11/ 2016 New Canal Pop song on Prism – A Tribute To Pet Shop Boys by Electrozombies

 A new Canal Pop song, a version of "How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously" will be available as part of the compilation Prism - A Tribute To Pet Shop Boys, released by the electropop music blog Electrozombies, from Germany. 

The song features vocals by Argentinean singer Arabescos, in her first collaboration with Canal Pop.

It features 22 tracks, all of them cover versions of Pet Shop Boys songs performed by some of the best artists in the electropop/ synthpop/ synthwave international underground scene (names like Parralox, Junksista, Machinista, Technique, etc.). As usual, Canal Pop is the only artist from Argentina.

01/ 2016 New Canal Pop track included in Electrozombies compilation (free download)

“Future Nights”, a new, previously unreleased track by Canal Pop feat. Josefina Aufranc,  was included in the compilation Undead And Open Minded released by the German blog Electrozombies. 
 
The compilation is presented as a FREE DIGITAL DOWNLOAD and it features 27 tracks by some of the most important artists in the global underground electropop/ synthpop/ EBM scene, including Parralox, Machinista, Vivien Glass Junksista, Psy’ Aviah, Julien-K and many more. Cosaquitos En Globo is the other act from Argentina, apart from Canal Pop, included in the compilation.

10/ 2015 Canal Pop feat. Josefina Aufranc will perform at the Dufour Music Festival, Buenos Aires

 

Canal Pop, featuring Josefina Aufranc on vocals, will perform at the 2015 edition of the Dufour Music Festival that’ll be held on October 9 at the Nuevo Emergente, Buenos Aires, Acuña de Figueroa 1030. Opens 21:00 (9 pm).

The Dufour Music Festival started in 2011 and is a festival dedicated to new, emerging artists from Argentina. Other artists that will perform are Valerio Rinaldi & Los Extravagantes, Pichis, Valentin & Los Volcanes, Aloe, Camerú and Diosque.

10/ 2015 New release: Canal Pop feat. Josefina Aufranc – Come To My World (Single)

Eternal Sunday presents Come To My World, the first single taken from the upcoming Canal Pop album, featuring singer, actress and model Josefina Aufranc. The album will be an homage to the early electro disco music that started with Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love”, produced by Giorgio Moroder in 1977.

The single contains the title track and a killer remix by Fr3ak. Both of them are instantly recognizable as Canal Pop songs, respecting the formula of releasing very catchy electropop songs with carefully produced vocal arrangements. Josefina Aufranc provides crystal- clear powerful vocals.

“I want Canal Pop to sound like a mix of Daft Punk and Abba”, said Emiliano Canal, the man behind Canal Pop. “I want a modern sound, but I also love the early electro sound, the old Hi-NRG and Italo disco sound. These were fantastic styles of music, much more original that rock. That’s why we covered ‘I Feel Love’, Giorgio Moroder started a revolution and music was changed forever. But no one took this electronic music seriously when it started”.

09/ 2015 New music video for “Come To My World” premiered at Side Line!

 

The nice people from the Belgian electro/ industrial magazine/ portal Side Line premiered the new Canal Pop feat. Josefina Aufranc music video for the upcoming single Come To My World.
 
The music video was shot (mostly) in black and white as an homage to the classic 80s synthpop aesthetics used by from such bands as Depeche Mode or Front 242. 



The single will hit the download stores October 2, 2015.

05/ 2015 Electric Future Beats 2014: New Electronic Music From Argentina, nominated for the Premios Gardel/ Gardel awards

We are delighted to announce that the compilation Electric Future Beats 2014: New Electronic Music From Argentina, is nominated for the Premios Gardel/ Gardel awards (the Argentinean equivalent to the Grammys) on the best electronic music album category.

The Gardel awards are organized by CAPIF (the Argentinean chamber of record labels) since 1999 and have a huge local media coverage, national TV included. The 2011 edition of the Electric Future Beats compilation won the best electronic music award in 2011.


The compilation includes Canal Pop’s song (featuring Polette) “I Want You (To Be My Baby)”.

12/ 2014 I Want You (To Be My Baby) included in the Electric Future Beats 2014 compilation

Eternal Sunday presents the third version of the Electric Future Beats compilation, the one that was awarded with the Gardel award in 2012 (the Argentinean equivalent of the Grammy) as the best electronic music album. In this occasion the compilation combines tracks that have been released as singles or as part of EPs during the year plus three unreleased tracks, by Alberto Perrone, KooLTURE remixed by German Kreff and X-Tralounge.

As usual the Electric Future Beats compilation feature a sample of the best underground electronic music from Argentina for the world to listen. Canal Pop is present with the song "I Want You (To Be My Baby)" (featuring Polette).

Eternal Sunday present’s the new Canal Pop release, I Want You (To Be My Baby).
 
“I Want You (To Be My Baby)” is the new song by Canal Pop feat. Polette, the first one after the release of the 2012 EP High Class Girls & Lo Fi Boys. Unlike past material it was produced by Osi Tejerina (gold-record producer from Argentina) and it features the classic Canal Pop radio friendly electropop sound combined with more edgy electronic bits and effects. As usual, the track is very catchy and radio friendly, the vocals are carefully arranged and the lyrics are clever.


The single features a B-side, “Your Daughter’s On The Phone”.
